We know there’s a lot of uncertainty about the future right now. During this challenging time, ASU is proud to provide you with opportunities to stay on track academically and advance toward your goals. Welcome, visiting university students!
As a national leader in online and remote learning, ASU is offering over 5,000 classes this summer available wherever you are. ASU has the class you need to get back on track or get ahead on progress toward your degree.
Though financial aid is not available for Visiting University Students, affordable tuition rates have been set to support any students interested in advancing their degree through ASU credits.
We recommend checking the course number and name with your advisor before you register to make sure it transfers back to your home institution.
Summer tuition for Visiting University Students is $530 / credit, with a one-time administrative fee of $77.
Classes will be offered via ASU Online or through live-hosted digital classes held on Zoom.
If you are an undergraduate student in good academic standing at any community college, college or university, you are eligible to take courses for credit with Arizona State University as a Visiting University Student.
Yes, students who already have a bachelor’s or are looking to enroll in ASU courses at the graduate (Master’s) level are welcome to apply as a Graduate Nondegree applicant.
In response to these unprecedented times, we have worked to make the application process as simple as possible. The application takes 10-15 minutes to complete. You’ll have an answer on your application within 48 hours.
All classes are offered remotely. Pardon the ASU jargon and technicalities, but some are offered as our traditional ASU Online courses and some are iCourses and some are taught remotely through live digital classes.
What is an ASU Online class?
ASU Online courses are part of our industry-leading online education platform and most are delivered asynchronously, meaning they do not have specific dates and times that the class meets. These classes are listed in ASU’s course search as “ASU Online Classes”.
What is an iCourse?
iCourses are online classes and may be offered asynchronously or they may be taught in live, digital sessions, or other synchronous methods. If an iCourse has a day and time listed, you will meet remotely during that time. If there is no specific time listed, this means that the class is asynchronous, meaning they do not have specific dates and times that the class meets. These classes are listed in ASU’s course search as “In-Person & iCourses”.
What is a live, digital Zoom class?
Some classes are taught in live, digital Zoom sessions, or other synchronous methods. These classes include a live lecture or class presentation by a faculty member alongside other virtual learners in Zoom. These classes are listed in ASU’s course search as “In-Person & iCourses”. For these classes, you will see a message that reads as follows.
"This class has been moved to an online format and meets remotely on the days and times listed. You will attend via the Attend Remotely link in My ASU."
In these uncertain economic times, we want to make every effort to remove barriers between you and your education goals. Thus, we have waived the application fee for Visiting University Students.
ASU is committed to providing our high quality instruction at an affordable tuition rate. Summer tuition for Visiting University Students is $530 / credit, with a one-time administrative fee of $77.
Most of ASU’s courses do transfer and count toward your degree at your home institution. However, we strongly encourage you to speak with your advisor at your home institution to ensure that the ASU class(es) you are taking will transfer back to your home institution. Ultimately, it is up to your home school if ASU classes count toward your degree.
Our top 20 most popular courses will have multiple start dates to ensure that there is enough room in classes for these high demand courses.
Summer sessions A & C begin on Monday, May 18. Summer session B begins on Wednesday, July 1.
Registration is now open for summer sessions A, B and C. As long as there are seats available in a class, there is no registration cut off date prior to its start date.
We are here to help. Please contact an admission representative directly at email@example.com and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.
